Chosen by God
As a young boy in elementary school I looked forward to recess and lunch. Recess meant play time on the playground. My classmates and I lined up to play dodge ball, soccer, softball, and tag football. Captains chose their teams. My nickname was “Tiny”, because I was the little guy in my class. You guessed it. I wasn’t chosen very often because of my small stature, even though I had a heart of a lion. Maybe your classmates and friends didn’t choose you either. A Steadfast Spirit
Standing fast in life requires a steadfast spirit.
Psalm 51 is David’s song of repentance, restoration, and renewal after falling from grace. The King of Israel had sinned against God by committing adultery, murder and cover up (See II Samuel 11-12). Busted by Nathan the prophet, David looks to the Lord to cleanse his heart and renew his spirit.

Never Lose Heart!
Have you ever been so discouraged about something that you found yourself losing heart over the situation?
Losing heart is not uncommon. To lose heart is to get to a place where we are discouraged to the point of being tempted to give up. To lose heart is to conclude: What’s the use? It doesn’t matter if I try anymore. Why work so hard for so little return? Why dream and hope when hopes are dashed and dreams are crashed? The more of ourselves that we put into something that goes wrong or doesn’t work out the way we had hoped it would, the easier it is to lose heart and the ickier we feel! • READ MORE •
